Malta is situated centrally in the Mediterranean, 93 km south of Sicily and consists of 3 Islands Malta, Comino and Gozo.

Malta has a very important history the capital Valletta from the First settlers in 5000BC to the Great Siege in 1565, Valletta owes a lot to the Knights of St John when the city was under siege in 1565 by the Ottomans but were defeated by small army of Knights and Maltese, it was the it was 1566 by the time Valletta was founded as the capital and named after Grand Master La Valette the hero of the Great Siege.
Their history grew over the years and in 1964 become apart of the British Commonwealth and in 2004 Malta became a member of the European Union.

Valletta is where most of the important history is , it here you will find St Johns Cathedral which houses the some of the most beautiful art work, Armour worn by the Knights of St John and over history, tapestries, inlaid Marble Tombs, Place of the Grandmasters - Malta's first constitutional parliament in1929 housing collections of weapons, tapestries, , 17th century Chandeliers, Portraits, Fort St. Elmo - is a fortification in Valletta now housing Malta's police academy and is on the shore of Sciberras Peninsula, Lower Barracca Gardens - is a garden in Valletta which offers great views of the Grand Harbor and 2 monuments one dedicated to Alexander Ball and another to remember the Great Siege of Malta.

The main shopping street is called Republic Street it is lined door to door with tourist shops amongst historical statues, buildings, weekly markets in Merchants Street where you will find great bargains on clothing, souvenirs, and so much more.

You may also wish to visit some of the famous movie areas that have been filmed here over the last 20 years, Popeye, Troy, Swept Away, much much more.
