Itinerary

Day 1: Rome – Siena – Florence

Depart for the medieval city of Siena. Walk along the narrow streets, admiring splendid palaces. Visit Piazza del Campo, the beautiful
square where the famous ‘Il Palio’ is held. Continue to Florence with the afternoon at leisure. Dinner will be in a local restaurant
to taste a typical Tuscan menu. (D)

Day 2: Florence

City tour of Florence. See Piazza del Duomo with its Baptistery and the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Piazza della Signoria with its Palazzo Vecchio. Visit a jewellery store and admire the collections of the Florentine goldsmith. Walk around the San Lorenzo leather market. Visit an old perfume workshop that produces fragrances using the methods and recipes of medieval monks. (B)

Day 3: Florence – Verona – Venice

Depart for Verona, the town or Romeo and Juliet. Explore the historical centre including the ancient Roman arena. Visit Juliet’s House
and then walk to Piazza Bra. Continue to Venice. Travel by boat to St. Mark’s Square. On a guided tour, see Doge’s Palace, the Campanile, St. Mark’s Basilica, and Rialto Bridge with its market area. Walk the back alleys and admire the canals and squares. (B,D)

Day 4: Venice

Cross the Venetian Lagoon to the island of Murano and see a glass blowing demonstration from a master craftsman. Return to St. Mark’s Square with the rest of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 5: Venice – Lake Garda – Lake Como – Milan

Depart for Sirmione, located on Lake Garda. See the Scala Castle and some of the amazing churches in the area. See the Grotte di Catullo, the imposing remains of what was once a luxurious Roman Villa. Proceed to Lake Como where you will see the historic highlights. Walk the ancient streets in the heart of town, surrounded by Roman walls. See the Romanesque and Baroque churches, Piazza Volta, and Piazza Duomo. Continue to Milan for a panoramic tour of the city. See the Sforzesco Castle, Piazza Mercanti, Piazza della Scala, the Cathedral, and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. (B,D)
