    Depart Lisbon for the medieval walled town of Obidos with its picturesque streets.
    Continue to Alcobaca and its 12th century gothic church with the tombs of King Pedro and Inês de Castro. Travel to Nazare, a colourful seaside resort. In the afternoon, continue to Batalha and visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria, a gothic masterpiece considered a World Heritage site by UNESCO, with its tomb of Henry the Navigator. Proceed to Fatima with the possibility to join the candle procession.
    Depart for Coimbra and visit the University, one of the oldest in the world, with its magnificent baroque library. Stop at St Clara Church, where lies the tomb of Queen St. Isabel, the protagonist of the “miracle of the roses”. In the afternoon, continue to Aveiro, known as the ‘Portuguese Venice’ because of its canals. Continue to Porto. (B)
    Morning tour of Porto. Discover the old houses, palaces and churches, and the famous port wine. Continue to medieval Guimaraes. Visit the Sacred Hill, crowned by the Castle as well as the Palace of the Dukes of Braganca. Continue to Braga with its religious architecture: the oldest cathedral in the country, and the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary with its famous baroque stairway and gardens. Return to Porto. (B)
    Depart for the pilgrimage town of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Day at leisure to wander the historical streets and taste some of the traditional local dishes. Return to Porto. (B)
    Depart for Amarante, the pretty town of Sao Goncalo
    and then to Vila Real visiting the gardens of the manor of Mateus. Travel through the vineyards of the Douro Valley. Stop in Lamego before continuing to the ancient town of Viseu with its narrow streets. Proceed to Canas de Senhorim. (B)
    Depart for Bussaco known for the luxuriant forest. Continue to Tomar with its castle and the remarkable Convent of Christ inside. It is the centrepiece of the city and classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Return to Lisbon. (B)
    Depart for Sintra. Visit the palace of Sintra and walk through the charming village. Enjoy the amazing view from the most western point of Europe (Cabo da Roca). Along the coast, pass by one of the most famous surfing beaches, the incredible Boca do Inferno, the cosmopolitan Cascais and the gardens of Estoril Casino. Return to Lisbon. (B)
    Cross the bridge over the river Tagus and pass by a landscape of olive trees, cork oak trees and vineyards. Arrive at the whitewashed town of Evora, a World Heritage site of UNESCO. Walk the narrow streets visiting the Romanesque-gothic Cathedral, Saint Francis Church with the Bones Chapel, and the University. Pass by the market and see local produce as well as local handicraft; cork, ceramic, and copper objects. Afternoon is at leisure. (B)
    Morning at leisure in Evora, before heading southward to Beja, where the highest tower of Portuguese Medieval castles dominates the town and the region. Crossing small mountains, enter the Algarve passing fields of orange trees. Arrive at Silves, the town dominated by its red sandstone castle dating back mainly to Moorish times. Pass by Praia da Rocha on the way to Lagos. (B)
    Depart for Ponta da Piedade and admire the magnificent view and the cliffs whose shapes have been sculpted by the erosive action of both the sea and time. Continue to the fishing port of Sagres and visit the fortress. Stop at the cliffs of Cabo São Vincente, the most south-western point in Europe. Return to the cosmopolitan fishing port town of Lagos. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. (B)
    Depart for Setubal, a major port and industrial centre. Continue over the Arrabida Mountain range before returning to Lisbon. End of services. (B)
