Three main airports in Croatia act as hubs for the rest of Europe, including Zagreb (the capital), Dubrovnik and Split. If you would like to visit the mainland, we recommend joining either one of our many escorted coach tours or packages from Zagreb, Dubrovnik or Split, which visit the main sites of mainland Croatia. We also have the option for Drive & Stay packages, which we plan the car hire and accommodation, and allow you to discover Croatia at your own pace. There are also the options to ferry from the Italian Coast to Split or Dubrovnik, namely from Venice, Ancona or Bari. Rail is another option, which will allow you to travel from Slovenia into Opatija or Rijeka, or alternatively from Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Serbia, Austria or Germany and into Zagreb.
Travelling to/from, and around the Croatian Islands can either be accomplished by cruise vessel or ferry. Unfortunately there are no regular flights into the Croatian Islands. Referring to the map below, the best and most popular routes to visit by ferry are from Dubrovnik and Split to travel to Brac, Hvar or Korcula. However, the ferries are quite unreliable and subject to change. These ferries can be booked directly with us, whereby we ensure that a Sun Island Tours representative is met at the port. The best way to see the Croatian Islands, would be via cruise vessel. Our cruises range from 2-7 nights 36 cruises to choose from; you are guaranteed to visit the islands of your choice, in style.
At the time of booking, only the date of the ferry can be confirmed, not the departure time, as schedules tend to change regularly. Our local agent will provide you with your tickets and the time of departure while you are in Croatia. Tickets are either delivered to your hotel at the point of origin or will be collected by you from our local agent. Should a ferry be rescheduled or cancelled while you are in Croatia (due to strikes, weather or unforeseen circumstances) our local agent will assist with alternative arrangements.
