Troy is an archaelogical site which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1998. It has strong history in literature and archaeology, in literature, it is well known as the location of the Trojan War.
Troy is situated at a distance of 30 kilometers from the Dardanelles. Troy has undergone excavations which show signs of fortified settlement of large long houses on the rocky hill of Hisarlik over 5000 years ago.
