Genoa is located on the northwest coast of Italy, not to far from the French border. A medieval old town the biggest in Europe, is an elaborate labyrinth of alleyways where among the shops, restaurants and local stores visitors can discover the cities noble past in it's 16th century palazzos and Romanesque churches. Visit the Piazza De Ferrari which is a significant part of Genoa. This lively public square is full of architectural delights such as the Palace of the Doges (Palazza Ducole) Or stroll along the Porto Antico the newly renovated harbour area and sample a dish from one of the many waterfront eateries. A must see when in Genoa is the stunning Cattedrale Di San Lorenzo - a cathedral built back in the 12th century.
