Zagreb, 'a city of museums' is the capital of Croatia. It's rich in theatre especially the opera and ballet.
Zagreb is rich in culture and history. Its true beauty lies in the 19th century cathedrals and churches with Romanesque and Gothic characteristics.
There are 2 main areas in Zagreb which make up the city, the upper town (Gornji Grad) and lower town (Donji Grad). All roads and trams seem to meet at the Trg Bana Jelacia, the main square of Zagreb.
Zagreb's town centre has an assortment of museums and galleries, elegant shopping boutiques, lively markets and delicious food to go with this cultural city. Charming coffee houses and fine restaurants can be found on nearly every corner.
